NZ INFO

New Zealand is found in the South Pacific Ocean. It is close to Antarctica, Australia, Fiji, Tonga, Samoa and the Cook Islands. New Zealand has three main islands that are called North Island, South Island and Stewart Island. Tokelau, Cook Islands and Nuie are in the North East and are apart of NZ too. One of the first people to come to New Zealand after the Polynesians and Maori was Captain James Cook. He was from Britain. New Zealand has a treaty called the Treaty of Waitangi which was signed between the Maori and the british in 1840. Some Maori drew their Moko (tattoo on their face) instead of signing their names. I hope you come to the rugby world cup to support your country.

My class was on TV One News

On Tuesday 23 of August I was sick and my class was on TV One News. On the News they were talking about schools having Netbooks. I was sad because other schools didn't have Netbooks because they can't buy them. Look at this clip so you can find out more.

The Life Ed Caravan

On Monday the 8th of August my class went to the Life Ed Caravan and I met Lynn. After a few seconds she told us we had to line up from tallest to shortest. We took off our shoes and went inside the Caravan where we sat down and saw Harold the puppet. At first no one spoke. Harold looked sad because we hadn't said good morning. Finally after Lynn's instructions we shouted, "Good morning Harold!" Harold looked much happier. Harold kept looking at Elizabeth and whispering into Lynn's ear saying that he liked Elizabeth and Elizabeth laughed. My favourite part of the day was watching how the body works. I enjoyed seeing how we digest food and how our blood circulates.

QUEENSLAND

What a cool game for QUEENSLAND beating NEW SOUTH WALES 34 - 24. My best players were Billy Slater and Darren Lockyer.

MOTAT

On Thursday the 31st of June Room 15, 16 and 17 from Pt England School went to Motat. When we got there we met this man called Fraser he was talking about stuff we should be doing and stuff we shouldn't be doing there. I was in Kingston's aunty's group with Starford  and Kingston. The first thing we did was have morning tea with all three classes. After that we went straight to the tactile dome.



Once we went into the tactile dome I got a fright because it was so dark. In fact it was pitch black and I couldn't see anything! We had to climb, crawl and slide over obstacles. It was so cool but people kept screaming and arguing. Once we were used to the darkness it wasn't so scary after all. It was fun! Once we got out everybody was excited for the Mirror Maze. Every body was freaked once they got into the mirror maze. Next we went to explore the different exhibitions around MOTAT. It was fun we saw old cars, fire engines and buses. We saw an old school, a black smith's forge and old cottages. After all of our exploring we were hungry so we went and had some lunch. After that we went and explored and then we went back to school.

Paper Towers

This is a movie of making a paper tower. The tower was easy to build as we worked together well. We used paper, cellotape, glue and scissors. It was hard to make this movie because of the music and movie had to be put all together. I finished it, so I hope you enjoy it.
